Event Details

Akil Clark is the founder and President of The Spark Foundation which is working to reduce summer reading loss and the reading achievement gap between high- and low-income students by ensuring that every student has an opportunity to build their very own personal library.  Clark also works as an Instructional Design Associate Consultant with Wells Fargo and has a degree in Human Resource Management and Sociology from Upper Iowa University.

We'll hear about the "spark" that shaped Clark's community engagement, details about the work he is doing, and what keeps him motivated to stay involved.  Part of a monthly series which features committed volunteers, founders of organizations, business leaders, philanthropists, city employees, elected representatives, and more.
