A History of Modern Art
Monday, February 24, 6:30-7:45 PM, Franklin Avenue Library

Dr. Natalie J.A. Benson, who received an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Modern French Art and Literature at the University of Iowa, will present a five-session series on modern art. Benson, currently an Adjunct Instructor of French at Drake University, will discuss the movements and artists most identified with the era, roughly covering 1850-1950.

Lisa (Elm) Taber, a graduate of Drake University with a major in history, while researching information for a novel, came across David Wiggins' "The Fall of Old Des Moines U". There wasn't much online, so she has been blogging and collecting information about the college ever since. Lisa is a member of the Des Moines Historical Society. Join us as she shares her research on the history of Highland Park College and Des Moines University.
