Jose Alvarado has been a tireless advocate for the Latinx community in Des Moines.

He has served as the executive director of the non-profit organization Latinx Immigrants of Iowa since its founding in 2016 and has developed several programs and events to support Latinx people.

This year the organization hosted 3 vaccine clinics in partnership with other agencies which has helped more than 1000 people get vaccinated.  Jose also serves as a board member of Knock and Drop Iowa.

Jose will share his spark story, or what motivated him to get involved—and what he reads to stay inspired.
