Adventure Pass temporarily shut down in 2025

Due to software issues affecting all libraries using the service, the Iowa Adventure Pass program will temporarily shut down in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can still make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. The service will return at a later time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Program Description

Event Details

What's the "spark" that shaped the lives of our local leaders? Hear from a different speaker each month as they share their "Spark Story,"  The specific experience that sparked them to create change in the community. In addition, we’ll hear details about the work they are doing and what keeps them motivated to stay involved.

Emily Osweiler, MSW, is the CEO of a new nonprofit called Greater Des Moines Supportive Housing. They plan to build a 100-150 unit permanent supportive housing campus in Polk County for people coming out of homelessness or who have other housing barriers. Emily helped lead the efforts to build and launch the YMCA Supportive Housing Campus in Des Moines in 2011. She is passionate about creating a circle of inclusion for our community’s most marginalized and ensuring access to safe, affordable housing.

Tune in on Facebook or YouTube on July 13 for the premiere of Emily’s “spark story.”
