Program Description

Event Details

Join sewing instructor Kaitlyn Munro on Wednesdays in October for a five-week Beginners Sewing program focused on hand-sewing basics. This program is for students in grades 4–8.

Participants will learn visible mending, upcycling clothing into unique treasures, and get an introduction to using a sewing machine.

If possible, please bring a basic sewing kit (needles, pins, threader, scissors) and items like a t-shirt, jeans, or fun patterned socks to transform. Materials will be available on-site, but bringing your own supplies is appreciated!

Week 3: What Else Is This? Learn about repurposing clothing items into different things. Some options are: reusable bag, a water bottle or phone holder, a hat, a fanny pack.
