Event Details
Join sewing instructor Kaitlyn Munro on Wednesdays in October for a five-week Beginners Sewing program focused on hand-sewing basics. This program is for students in grades 4–8.
Participants will learn visible mending, upcycling clothing into unique treasures, and get an introduction to using a sewing machine.
If possible, please bring a basic sewing kit (needles, pins, threader, scissors) and items like a t-shirt, jeans, or fun patterned socks to transform. Materials will be available on-site, but bringing your own supplies is appreciated!
Week 2: DIY Stuffies! Create your own stuffed animal or monster. Learn how to follow a pattern, and how to sew on buttons. Materials will be provided, but if you have an item you want to upcycle for today please bring it!
