Event Details

Make an original shoebox-sized diorama using iconic PEEPS marshmallow candies. Create your family friendly entry using current events, themes from your favorite book, movies/television, or clever “peeps” puns!

A limited number of diorama kits (suitable for ages 5 and up) will be available for pickup at the Central Library while supplies last starting April 1st. Kits will include a package of Peeps, construction paper, and bits of yarn. Use any other craft supplies you have around the house.  

How to Enter:

Email a photo of your diorama to LIB-Marketing@dmpl.org by 5PM on April 15. Your entry must include:

  • Your full name
  • Age group
  • Any teammates’/ family members’ names
  • The title of your diorama
  • At least one photo of the diorama

Contest Guidelines:

  • All entries featured in photograph must be approximately the size of a standard shoebox.
  • All characters in your scene should be made using Peeps. Dioramas can use any type of Peep.
  • Limit one entry per person or family/team.
  • A Staff and Fan Favorite Winner will be awarded in the following categories: Youth, Tween, Teen/Adult, Family/Team
  • By entering your diorama, you give the Des Moines Public Library permission to share it online.

April 15th: Deadline for Peeps Diorama submission.
