Hats of the Downton Abbey Period (1920-1926)

Donna Scarfe is a transplant to Iowa from Los Angeles, CA. She has a M.A. in Theatre and Deaf Studies and is a nationally certified professional sign language interpreter for the deaf, an actress and milliner.  She has acted with the National Theatre of the Deaf, the Des Moines Playhouse and is a founding member of the Iowa Stage Theatre Company.  She owns “Fyne Hats By Felicity” (www.fynehatsbyfelicity.com) which creates custom hats in period and contemporary styling.  She travels to various Renaissance Faires in the Midwest area selling hats for peasants and princes and has a hat booth on the High Street at the Renaissance Faire at Sleepy Hollow Festival Park in Des Moines.  Donna has interpreted for colleges and universities, medical appointments, church services, events and conferences, theatrical performances (she did at the Fun Forest each year interpreting for the performers at the State Fair) and was part of a delegation that interpreted at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland for a Human Rights Disability presentation. Donna is married to Alan, the Episcopal Bishop of Iowa (retired), and they have a son and daughter in the US and a son and a daughter in the UK.
