Beyond Birth: Baby's First Year is a free weekly postpartum support group for parents and their new babies.

For those looking for basic computer help come to the Forest Avenue Library. We will provide individual assistance with creating an email, polishing a resume, typing a document, or applying for a job.

Staff from the Evelyn K Davis Center for Working Families are ready to provide one-on-one job search and resume assistance to job seekers.

Join us for the Friends of the Forest Avenue Library's annual Soul Food Festival! Meals will be served 11:00-2:00.  A la carte and dessert items also available. 

This is a cash only event. 

Join us for a drop-in event for all ages. Come in, grab warm drink and a snack, get cozy, and choose from a variety of games or puzzles to play with friends!

This program will include a brief overview of where Mindfulness Meditation comes from and why we do it, followed by a 20 minute sitting practice with time for Q&A afterwards. Chair seating will be available.

The Des Moines Public Library is partnering with area organizations to connect people with community resources. Community advocates will provide information about community resources like meal sites and shelters.

Learn how to use the Glowforge Plus Laser Engraver at Tech Central! This program takes the place of the 1 on 1 Glowforge tutorial, so you will be fully qualified to book and use the Glowforge on your own after this program.

Tweens and teens ages 10-14 can join us for a book club on the last Tuesday of the month.

Have you ever thought about food as art? ASAP Teaching Artist Amy Joens will help us explore the colors, shapes, textures, and tastes of fresh, in-season fruits, vegetables, and herbs straight from the garden.

Learn how to use the Bambu X-1 Carbon filament 3D printer and the Formlabs Form 3 resin 3D printer.  Participants will learn how to use the free software to prepare their 3D files for printing at the library.

The Art of Expression is a monthly program for teens to learn and create different types of art in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Stop by the Forest Avenue Library to pick up a copy of this month's title, Love in Color: Mythical tales from around the world retold by Bolu Babalola.

Join artist and library staff member Fueche Vang as we illustrate fun characters in watercolor. We'll explore painting animals, people, and environments. We'll start with some studies and then jump into creating our own characters.
