Create bags, clothes, and more with the library’s sewing machine. If you can dream it, you can do it—just remember to measure and pin before you do!

Station Information
The library has a small selection of sewing thread and scrap fabric, but we encourage you to bring your own thread and fabric.
The library has pins, scissors, seam rippers, and other basic sewing tools available to use at this station. We also have an iron and a small ironing board.
Rules and Guidelines
- You must be a Des Moines Public Library cardholder
- For ages 14 and up
- Users under the age of 14 must be accompanied by parent/guardian
- Reservations may be submitted two weeks in advance
- Reservations start at two hours per day, with extensions subject to availability
- Walk-in appointments are subject to availability
