All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Program Description

Event Details

A junk journal is a handmade book made up of recycled items such as papers from magazines, brochures, patterned paper, music sheets, envelopes, maps, Washi tape, stickers, and more! Teens and Tweens, ages 10-18, will learn about art and junk journaling and try their hand at creating pages inside their journals with the materials provided.

We will also have markers, Sharpies, watercolor paints, and other supplies to create!  Each participant will receive their own journal to take home!  Snacks will be provided. Preregistration Required. Space is limited.
