All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

It's been a long time coming! Swifties of all ages are invited to come together to celebrate Taylor Swift's birthday at Central Library!

  • Make and trade friendship bracelets. We will have supplies, and you can also bring bracelets from home!
  • Dress as your favorite era. 
  • Get a printed photo taken at our Taylor Swift -themed photobooth.
  • Decorate a frame to hang your brand new Swiftie photograph in.
  • Dance to her iconic music from all 11 eras.
  • Color Taylor Swift-themed coloring sheets. 
  • Bejewel your very own pair of tinted sunglasses.
  • Win Taylor Swift-themed raffle prizes by completing a BINGO card.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
