Adventure Pass temporarily shut down in 2025

Due to software issues affecting all libraries using the service, the Iowa Adventure Pass program will temporarily shut down in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can still make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. The service will return at a later time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

It's the holiday season and the perfect time to do some baking. So join us online for Take & Bake: Holiday Edition!

Registrants will receive a FREE bag with (almost) all the supplies needed to make fudge at home. The ingredients provided are: sugar, evaporated milk, semisweet chocolate chips, and marshmallow creme. Participants will need to supply a 9x13 inch pan, butter, vanilla extract and whatever additional add in's you'd like- such as walnuts, peanuts, sprinkles, etc!

If you have allergies, please note that all ingredients were measured and packaged in the same kitchen. The ingredients were prepared by a food service business, Easton's Food Truck, that follows all Iowa Health Code requirements.

The bags will be available for pickup at Central Library's Pickup Window during curbside hours from December 7-15.

Registration is required to receive a fudge kit. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with the link and password to the Zoom program. This link is how we will get together to learn how to make fudge! Easton, from Easton's Food Truck, and DMPL Librarian, Haley, will be showing how to make fudge.

Library staff will monitor the chat and will pass those questions along from the chat. Disruptive or disrespectful comments in the chat may result in removal from the program.
