Program Description

Event Details

Get ready to race with your very own rubber band racer! In this fun and educational activity, you’ll learn how to build a car powered by the stored energy of rubber bands. You’ll get to experience potential and kinetic energy, simple machines, friction, elasticity, and ratios.

We will be using materials on our STEAM Cart, provided by a grant from the Iowa Stem Council and TeacherGeek. STEM programs are designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The program is open to all ages and skill levels.
