Program Description

Event Details

Join our Sewing Instructor, Kaitlyn Munro, Wednesdays in October for a five-week Beginners Sewing program with hand-sewing basics! Program for students in grades 4-8.

Participants will learn about visible mending, upcycling clothing into one-of-a-kind treasures, as well as an introduction on how to use a sewing machine.

If you are able, please bring a basic sewing kit (needles, pins, threader, scissors) and items such as t-shirt, jeans, fun patterned socks that you would like to turn into treasures. There will be materials available on-site but anyone able to bring their own supplies is appreciated!

Week 5: Make your own Halloween costume piece! Pick clothes out of a donation pile and turn them into something else using all your new sewing skills!
