All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Do you like things that explode? Visit North Side Library and explore the interactions of pressure, temperature and states of matter with an educator from the Science Center of Iowa! Kids can watch an experiment with ultra-cold nitrogen and combustible gases to learn why things pop, bang and blow up!
