All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Join Grand View physics professor, Grant Knotts, for a discussion on Renewable Energy! This is an exploration of how we get our electricity and how the production of energy is likely to change in the next few decades. We will discuss the pros and cons of traditional power plants using fossil fuels or nuclear reactions as a power source in comparison to sources of energy that are considered renewable such as hydroelectric, wind, solar, and fusion
