"Prairie strips are a Farm Bill conservation practice that protects soil and water while providing habitat for wildlife through the integration of native perennial prairie vegetation into strategic locations within corn and soybean fields. During this presentation you will hear from Lee Tesdell, a landowner who has implemented prairie strips and Tim Youngquist an agronomist on the STRIPS team at Iowa State University who has implemented prairie strips on his family’s farm, where he also works.  Lee and Tim will discuss prairie strip design, wildlife ecology, pollinators, roots and vegetation, soil and water quality, and the human dimensions of prairie strips!”
