All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Event Details

RAGBRAI is coming through Des Moines this year, and we want to have bike art on display for the riders stopping by! Visit the children's area to weave a few pieces of fabric into a bike wheel. We will display the completed wheels in our gateway on July 26.
