All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will be closed on Monday, February 16, for our annual staff training day. All locations will reopen for normal hours on Tuesday, February 17.

Ready to own a home but not sure where to start?

Our Journey to Homeownership (J2H) program provides educational tools and resources to support community members who are looking to become homeowners. The core part of the J2H initiative is a down payment assistance program. Join an upcoming in-person class to learn more! We’ll cover the homebuying process, real challenges first-time buyers face, and how J2H can support you every step of the way.

J2H is focused on expanding homeownership in Polk and Linn Counties — and you could be next.

 

This class will be celebrating the rich history of Juneteenth Light refreshments and snacks will be provided!

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
