Ready to own a home but not sure where to start?

Neighborhood Finance Corportation's Journey to Homeownership (J2H) program is here to help with the tools, resources, and down payment assistance with a focus on overcoming historical and systemic barriers to homeownership. This program was created to address the large disparity in homeownership for the African American Community.

We’ll cover the homebuying process, real challenges first-time buyers face, and how J2H can support you every step of the way.

J2H is focused on expanding homeownership in Polk and Linn Counties — and you could be next.

Neighborhood Finance Corporation (NFC) has been awarded grant funds through the CDFI Fund, local community partners, and donations, to address challenges in underserved communities.  NFC has committed the funding for down payment and closing cost assistance in the NFC Lending Areas, in Polk and Linn Counties, to assist homebuyers who have obtained a J2H Certificate and meet the other eligibility requirements.

The Journey to Homeownership (J2H) Program is an affirmative asset initiative for eligible homebuyers in the NFC lending areas. The program focuses on overcoming historical and systemic barriers to homeownership by providing down payment and closing cost assistance, combined with the intention of addressing other barriers through community partnerships.
