10 AM: Journaling to Heal© with Billie Wade

Journaling to Heal© supports participants on their path to healing and recovery from life’s challenges, even difficult situations. Journaling is one of the best ways to explore emotions and feelings, sort through events and relationships, and strengthen self-awareness and problem-solving.

Billie Wade, BS, MS is a writer whose experiences as a lifelong journaler inspired her to create Journaling to Heal© to travel with people on their journey of healing from difficult situations, and everyday life. Her first-hand knowledge of the power of words and internal messages, along with her belief in the ability of individuals to take part in their healing process, forms the foundation of the program.

11:30 AM: Mindful Eating with Hilary Burbank of Cultivate

Food. A word of many meanings. For some consuming food is simply a means of survival, for others consuming food has become a mindless act. Our relationship with food has changed as industrialization and globalization have created more distance between us and the food we eat. At Cultivate, we believe in educating and empowering loyal and allied food citizens through creating personal connections and convenient pathways for people to access and consume local foods. Join us for a discussion about how knowing where your food comes from and your farmer can improve your relationship with food and create more mindful eating habits featuring Jennie Erwin, owner and operator of Daystar Harvest.

1 PM: Zen Meditation

Our lives are generally hectic enough.  The holiday season, though intended to be a time of peace, can many times be the opposite, increasing our stress and anxiety levels.  This one-hour program on Zen meditation and mindfulness is intended to prescribe a “medicine” you can take through the holiday season to hopefully relieve any suffering and help you experience joy and peace, and pass it on to family and friends, in the midst of all the activity.

The program will cover Zen meditation and provide instructions so you can practice it at home.  It will also cover the topic of mindfulness and how meditation and mindfulness are related.

2:30 PM: Guided Meditation with Safiyah Grace

Enjoy a gentle guided meditation followed by the soothing tones of crystal singing bowls. This gentle practice helps release the stress and tension of modern life and provides an opportunity to experience deep peace of body, mind and spirit.

Safiyah Grace has over a decade of experience in Alternative Health and Wellness. She has a degree in Complementary Alternative Medicine from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. She works as a Licensed Massage Therapist and provides community Sound Baths and Spiritual Education.
