Language of Life: An Introduction to Writing Poetry

Join author Tom Montgomery Fate for a free workshop that teaches introductory craft strategies for poetry during National Poetry Month. 

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought,” writes Robert Frost, “and the thought has found words.”  In this introductory poetry workshop, we'll consider how to craft the words that create such an emotion/experience in our readers.  We’ll review and discuss several poetic models and then try our hand at writing a poem or two.  The goal is to learn a bit about how poetry works, and to have some fun in the process.
