All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Join the ​North Side Library and Iowa Juneteenth at this week's Preschool Storytime to celebrate Juneteenth here in Iowa. Together with Dwana Bradley, General Chairperson of Iowa Juneteenth, we will explore the history of this day, how we celebrate here in Des Moines, and what is being planned for the future.
