Adventure Pass temporarily shut down in 2025

Due to software issues affecting all libraries using the service, the Iowa Adventure Pass program will temporarily shut down in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can still make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. The service will return at a later time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Event Details

Join the library and Grand View physics professor Grant Knotts to learn about the James Webb Space Telescope! We'll learn about the history and rationale for putting telescopes in space, the study of cosmology, and what questions the James Webb telescope seeks to answer. Then we'll dig into some of the features and instruments on the James Webb telescope that make it such a powerful tool for astronomy, and of course, we'll talk about some of the important images and discoveries we have gathered from the James Webb telescope during its short time in space.
