Program Description

Event Details

Birds are disappearing at an alarming rate — including right here in Iowa. In this engaging and eye-opening talk, we’ll explore why bird populations are declining, from habitat loss and window collisions to pesticides and development, and what these losses mean for our ecosystems and communities. Most importantly, you’ll leave empowered with simple, practical actions you can take to make a real difference — from bird-friendly yards to community science and conservation advocacy.

As part of the mission of Iowa Bird Rehabilitation — advancing avian conservation through rehabilitation, education, and community engagement — this program connects the challenges birds face with the hands-on work being done to heal injured birds, educate the public, and inspire action. When birds thrive, we all thrive.
