All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Join the Des Moines Public Library for an evening with Nina Wilson. Perfect for an October evening, Nina will be discussing her horror novel set in a hundred year old summer camp in the hills of Iowa along with a mysterious house with a long history of murder and strange events. Look forward to a reading and discussion afterwards.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday
