Kick off the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge with a morning of fun for youth of all ages!
Meet Latin Thunder and friends to see if you have what it takes to be a luchador! Face painting, air-brush tattoos, and balloon artists will also be available to help us celebrate the beginning of summer!
Don't miss your chance to register for the *Summer Reading Challenge, snap a pic with Rosie Reader, and get hands-on with book inspired activities!
Youth ages 0-18 can register for Summer Reading during the event and select a free book to help you complete the challenge for your chance to earn prizes!
Littles
- Welcome to a world created just for you! What community helper do you want to be as you build, craft, and imagine a city perfectly sized for babies and toddlers!
Kids
- Dive into book-themed adventures like making your own slime, building wild LEGO creations, crafting paper airplanes, creating epic comics, and more! Complete your BINGO card and win a cool prize!
Teens
- Create mini-comics & book hedgehogs!
- Design your own fandom bookmarks & buttons!
- Play Switch games!
*The DMPL Summer Reading Challenge runs 6/7-8/2 and youth can register at all six locations!
