Program Description

Event Details

Exploration rovers have been studying Mars for nearly 30 years. Join us at Central Library as NASA Solar System Ambassador Dan Hoy shares how we have explored Mars, how rovers are designed, and what they have revealed about the Red Planet. Participants can build their own rover model using provided supplies. Designed for ages 5-10, but all are welcome!

 

Bio: Dan Hoy, from Clive Iowa, is currently serving in his seventh year as a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador volunteer. In this role he makes presentations and conducts workshops on space and space exploration, with all age groups, across central Iowa.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
