All DMPL locations are currently serving as Polk County Warming Centers during open hours. DART will be providing free rides to warming centers while the extreme temperature plan is in effect. More information about warming centers can be found on the Polk County website.

Join us at Forest Avenue Library for a Student Harmonica Giveaway and Lesson with Bob Pace. A fixture of the Des Moines blues scene, Bob is best known for his guitar work with many famous musicians—but his first love was the harmonica! Thanks to the Central Iowa Blues Society’s BluesME program, students will receive a free harmonica to play along. Blues CDs will also be given away as door prizes.

Seating and supplies are limited, so arrive early!
