All DMPL locations are currently serving as Polk County Warming Centers during open hours. DART will be providing free rides to warming centers while the extreme temperature plan is in effect. More information about warming centers can be found on the Polk County website.

Join the ​South Side Library and Iowa Juneteenth for an evening to celebrate Juneteenth here in Iowa. Together with Dwana Bradley, General Chairperson of Iowa Juneteenth, we will explore the history of this day and how we celebrate here in Des Moines, and what is being planned for the future.
