AViD Presents: Maria Semple

Maria Semple is the bestselling author of Where’d You Go, Bernadette, Today Will Be Different, This One Is Mine, and the forthcoming Go Gentle (2026). Her novels are translated into 40 languages. Before fiction, she wrote for television, including Arrested Development, Mad About You, Ellen, and 90210. 

Where’d You Go, Bernadette spent over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, won the Alex Award, and was adapted into a film starring Cate Blanchett. Semple lives in New York and is currently developing a musical adaptation of Bernadette with KT Tunstall.
