Activities and programs for all ages, including weight room & cardio area, computer lab, Polk County congregate meals.

Assists with transportation, meals on wheels, and protective payee financial counseling for low income disabled citizens 18 and older.

Volunteer Lawyers Project is a charitable organization established by the Polk County Bar Association with the mission of providing civil legal services to low income residents of Polk County.

Provides crisis intervention and ongoing services (including counseling) to victims of assault or abuse.

Also offers a safe, confidential support group open to older teens and adults surviving the loss of a loved one through suicide. Meets the second Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. as well as the last Saturday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m. 

Homicide Survivor Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at our office from 6-7:30 p.m. No charge.

Food assistance, childcare assistance, state supplementary assistance.

Eligible families whose property is assessed for less than $95,000 can receive a lifetime maximum repair benefit of $8,000, or 10% of the assessed value of their home, whichever is less.

Provides temporary financial assistance for basic services such as rent and utility assistance.

Offers immunizations, TB test, Primary Care services, Women’s Health Services and Sexually Transmitted Disease testing.

Walk in mental health clinic and sobering center

Broadlawns 24/7 Crisis Observation Center provides a safe, calm environment where you can meet with a nurse and therapist, and if needed, receive assistance setting up mental health appointments and services.

Provides individuals and families up to three days worth of food for free.

Offers assistance in the following areas: filing federal claims, temporary financial assistance, food assistance, shelter assistance, utility assistance, transportation assistance, medical assistance, funeral expenses, and markers for graves. Temporary financial assistance may be provided to qualified applicants receiving food stamps to use for personal care items.
