Provides crisis intervention and ongoing services (including counseling) to victims of assault or abuse.

Also offers a safe, confidential support group open to older teens and adults surviving the loss of a loved one through suicide. Meets the second Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. as well as the last Saturday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m. 

Homicide Survivor Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at our office from 6-7:30 p.m. No charge.

Food assistance, childcare assistance, state supplementary assistance.

Eligible families whose property is assessed for less than $95,000 can receive a lifetime maximum repair benefit of $8,000, or 10% of the assessed value of their home, whichever is less.

Offers assistance in the following areas: filing federal claims, temporary financial assistance, food assistance, shelter assistance, utility assistance, transportation assistance, medical assistance, funeral expenses, and markers for graves. Temporary financial assistance may be provided to qualified applicants receiving food stamps to use for personal care items.

Offers prevention services and substance abuse treatment programs for individuals and families.

Homeless Support Services: provides centralized intake for all Des Moines shelters. Assists with housing placement, case management, and uncovering options for income streams. Showers available Monday-Friday 8 AM-4 PM.
