Provides subsidized rentals for eligible low- and moderate-income families and individuals as well as seniors in need of assisted living.

Provides supplemental food and nutrition education for the elderly ages 60 and over.

DART Paratransit: Provides service for senior citizens and persons with disabilities living in Polk County who are functionally unable to independently use the regular DART bus service. 

Reduced Fare Programs: Provides reduced fare rates for the elderly (65+), persons with disabilities, Medicare card holders, veterans with a Service Connected ID, students in middle and high school, and refugees.

Hours: Monday-Saturday 7 AM - 5 PM

Provides free day-time shelter, meals, groceries, showers, toiletries, clothing, and phone use.

Hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3 PM-6:30 PM; Saturday 12 PM-2 PM. Sunday 4:30 PM-7 PM

Meal Times: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 3PM and 6 PM, Saturday at 12 PM, Sunday at 6 PM

Free groceries: Tuesday and Fridays at 3 PM. Canned goods and hygiene products available upon request during open hours.

Assists families in achieving stability and economic independence by providing family support services, education and training, and opportunities for employment.

Coordinates housing assistance with public and private resources to enable assisted families to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Part of Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency.

Our purpose is to provide menstrual products to those that struggle with access, while eliminating the stigma and shame of periods.

HOME, Inc. offers assistance programs for homeowners who need to make necessary repairs to their homes to keep their spaces livable.

Services include crisis counseling, service referrals, showers and laundry facilities, a cell phone charging station, donation center access, service referrals and staff support for youth living without safe, stable housing. Also offers nine low-barrier, single bed units for youth (18-24).

Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM-6 PM

Meals: During the week, we provide free, nutritious, warm meals at lunch (12-1 p.m.) and dinner (5-6 p.m.) to all at-risk and homeless youth ages 16-22.

Helps low-income families meet basic needs through programming and other resources in the community. Assistance with utility bills, heating assistance (November-April), food assistance (pantry), personal hygiene, disaster assistance, etc. May also offer referrals.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM except Wednesday 9:30 AM-4:30 PM

Provides assistance and supplies to homeless individuals and families.

Hours: Tuesday-Friday 9 AM-4 PM
