The Central Library is replacing the concrete in its driveway beginning Wednesday, August 27. During that time, the Central Library book drop, pickup window, and parking garage will be closed. The project will take approximately three weeks, weather-dependent.

We know there will be questions about some operations during that time. We have answers to some of those questions below:

During this project, the driveway will be closed. That means the book drop, pickup window, and parking garage will be closed.

Street parking is available on all of the blocks surrounding the library. These parking spots are metered spots, costing $1.25/hour to park. Download the ParkDSM App to pay on your phone. Follow the instructions when you arrive.

A parking garage is also available at the northeast corner of 9th St. and Locust St for $1.25/hour.

During the time of the project, holds normally picked up at the pickup window will instead be moved inside to the Central Library's hold shelf.
