All locations of the Des Moines Public Library are serving as cooling centers today (June 18) during open hours. DART is providing free rides to all cooling centers.

Library closed on Juneteenth

All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in commemoration of Juneteenth. We will reopen at the regular time on Thursday, June 20.

The Franklin Afternoon Book Discussion is a regularly scheduled book club .meeting on the second Monday of the month. Titles are selected from various genres and copies of the next month's book are available at the end of each discussion or at the Help Desk. All patrons are welcome!
