The East Side Library is a welcoming space for everyone who wants to explore new interests or master new skills. Our free programs and displays will inspire you, and our helpful staff will assist with finding items in both English and Spanish. Dive into the colorful environment of Rosie’s Ocean (our themed space in the children’s area), attend a program in our meeting room, relax with a book or magazine in our fireplace nook, or use our computers and WiFi to help you achieve your goals.

Join us for indoor Park-N-Play, hosted by the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation department on Monday afternoons in the East Side Library meeting room. Drop in and enjoy toys, games, crafts, and activities for families at no cost.
Join us for rhymes, songs, bounces, stories, and a little playtime. For caregivers and babies ages 0 - 18 months.
Join ASAP for a group painting party, with a different finished work each week. Drop in once or every week; all supplies and snack provided.
