Join us at North Side Library for a very special storytime with a Firefighter from the Des Moines Fire Department. We'll share some stories about fire safety, learn about firefighter equipment, and then explore a fire truck up close!
DART staff will provide small group training to help individuals learn to ride the bus in Greater Des Moines. Training will demonstrate how to plan a trip, read maps and schedules, recognize bus stops, pay fares, practice rider safety and more. This training will also highlight DART’s newest route #50, a crosstown route running from E. 42nd to Merle Hay along the Euclid and Douglas Ave corridor.
“Mother Goose on the Loose”, is a 30-minute nursery rhyme program for newborns to three-year-olds. The class helps to strengthen babies' and toddler's foundation for literacy with rhymes, rhythm, repetition, story, and movement.
If you’re interested in starting your own business, this class is for you. Come hear from members of the Des Moines SCORE Foundation, composed of volunteers that mentor and advise those who want to start, run, or grow a small business. Bring your small business idea and learn about how to market and fund your own business, the pluses and minuses of being an entrepreneur, and more. There will be a small free breakfast, and you’ll leave with resources and network connections as you move forward. This program is part of the Main Street 101: DMPL Small Business Workshops
