Program Description

Event Details

Join us over the lunch hour to meet Dawn Martinez Oropeza, Executive Director of Al Exito, an Iowa non-profit which provides Iowa Latinx students with programs which provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and college/career readiness.  You'll hear the “spark story” that motivates Oropeza to make Iowa a better place to live and get a list of books and other material that have kindled her community involvement.

The program takes place between 12:15-12:45, with unstructured networking time (or built-in lunch-hour commute time if you need it!) at the beginning and end of the hour.  Feel free to bring your lunch.

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendar for future Spark Stories lunches, from 12-1 on the second or third Wednesday of each month.

The library makes every effort to ensure our programs can be enjoyed by all. If you have any concerns about accessibility or need to request specific accommodations, please contact the library.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
