Each of our branch locations has a large meeting room which may be rented during regular library hours. Rooms capacities range from 50 to 150 people depending on the location. East Side, Forest Avenue, Franklin Avenue, and North Side Libraries each have an integrated projection system which is available for use for an additional fee.
Rooms are $20 per hour or free for organizations which meet our nonprofit, open meeting requirements. Maintenance fees are required for all groups using the projection unit or serving food.
Forest Avenue and Franklin Avenue Libraries have small conference rooms which can hold up to ten people available as well. Rooms are $10 per hour or free for organizations which meet our nonprofit, open meeting requirements. A maintenance fee of $20 will be charged if food will be served.

DMPL BRANCH LIBRARY ROOM USER INFORMATION - All room users must indicate on their application they have read the room user information.
Rooms will not be reserved until a completed application is received and approved by the Administration Office.
Any organization seeking nonprofit rates must qualify as a 501(c)3 or similar tax-exempt organization per the Internal Revenue Code and must submit proof of exemption to the library administration office. Meetings must be open to the public and are subject to the Iowa Open Meeting Laws or they must pay the for-profit rate for booking the space.
