Welcome back from your Thanksgiving travels! Welcome to 7 Days, 7 Events, where we highlight some of the neatest things happening at the Des Moines Public Library in the upcoming week. This is just a brief selection of programs, but there's always a lot more going on. Go to our online events calendar for a full listing. We provide the paper and pens, and you provide the creativity! Check out comic creators, an unsupervised, drop-in program for grades 4-12. You can try your hand on manga, cartoons, superheroes, and more. Children under 10-years-old must be accompanied by a caregiver more than 12-years-old.
Join us for a 45-minute yoga session with instructor Shelby Kruse. This class is beginner-friendly and designed for all skill levels. Bring your mat and meet us in the library's west wing on the 2nd floor. You must fill out a waiver before taking part. Fill out the waiver here or at the library before the session begins.
This monthly program is a great place for kids to interact! Swap Pokémon cards and share your passion for catching 'em all at the Franklin Avenue Library. Bring any cards you want to trade and seek out the Pokémon you need for your collection. For ages 7-18.

Come to the North Side Library on the last Friday of the month to read with Gracie, the therapy dog! Gracie is a friendly European Boxer who can't wait to hear your favorite stories. Stop by the Children's Area to pick out a book and read with Gracie. For ages 3-12.
Decorate your own dragon egg to take home and enjoy snacks while viewing the popular children's movie How to Train Your Dragon. Rated PG.
Stop by the South Side Library's Children's Area and create a foam holiday tree bookmark using our supplies! These bookmarks make great gifts. For ages 3-12. This is an unsupervised, drop-in program, and parent or guardian must be present with children. Craft available while supplies last.
