Fingerplays: Fire Safety

Ten Little Firefighters

Ten little firefighters,
Sleeping in their beds.
“Ding!” went the bell,
And down the pole they slid.
They raced to the fire
And put out all the flames
Then the ten little firefighters
Went back to bed again.

Firefighter Song
(sung to the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot”)
Act it out as you go.

I’m a little firefighter on the go.
Here is my helmet
Here is my hose.
When I see a fire,
Hear me shout!
Turn on the water
And put the fire out – Shhhhhhhh!

This firefighter slides down the pole. (middle)
This firefighter chops a hole. (ring)
This firefighter climbs higher and higher. (pinky)
And all the firefighters put out the fire!

Fire Safety
Sung to: "Frere Jacques"

Never, never play with matches
If you do, if you do,
You might burn your fingers, you might burn your fingers.
That won't do.
That won't do.
Never, never play with matches
If you do, if you do,
You might burn your house down, you might burn your house down.
That won't do.
That won't do.
Never, never play with matches.
If you do, if you do,
You might burn your clothes,
You might burn your clothes,
That won't do.
That won't do.
