Listen to Iowa Public Radio’s interview with AViD author Anne Lamott
Anne Lamott writes and speaks about subjects that begin with capital letters; Alcoholism, Motherhood, Jesus. But armed with self-effacing humor – she is laugh out loud funny – and with ruthless honesty, she converts her subjects into enchantment. Her latest book, Imperfect Birds, continues the story of her long-running mother daughter pair – Elizabeth and Rosie, as they deal with addictions while seeking approval from those around her.
Lamott is the author of six novels including, Hard Laughter, Rosie, Joe Jones, All New People, and Crooked Little Heart, as well as four bestselling books of non-fiction, including Operating Instructions, an account of life as a single mother during her son’s first year, Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life, Traveling Mercies, and Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith.
